Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ReportRemarks collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit reportremarks.com or use the ReportRemarks teacher comment service. ReportRemarks is an independently operated software publisher. It is not affiliated with a school district, government agency, Google, Microsoft, or an assessment publisher. You can learn more on our About page.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, sign-in provider identifiers, and authentication metadata.
- Teacher-provided content: notes, prompts, roster fields, preferred tone, and generated comments you choose to create or save.
- Service records: credit balance, generation history, exports, feature interactions, timestamps, and basic diagnostic logs.
- Purchase records: order identifiers, product purchased, amount, currency, status, and limited billing metadata supplied by a payment provider. We do not store full payment-card numbers.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, approximate region, referring page, pages viewed, and interactions recorded through server logs or analytics technologies.
- Messages: the email address and information you provide when you contact support.
Student information and educator responsibilities
ReportRemarks is designed for educators, not for use directly by children. Submit only the information needed to draft a comment. Whenever possible, use first names, initials, or internal identifiers instead of full legal names, and do not enter student email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, health records, disability diagnoses, government identifiers, or other unnecessary sensitive information. Your school or district may impose additional privacy requirements. You are responsible for confirming that your use is authorized and consistent with those requirements. ReportRemarks does not use teacher-submitted student notes to build advertising audiences or to train a ReportRemarks public model.
How we use information
- Authenticate users and provide comment generation, editing, history, import, export, and support features.
- Process purchases, maintain credit balances, prevent duplicate transactions, and handle refund requests.
- Secure the service, diagnose errors, detect abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Understand aggregate site usage and improve performance, navigation, and content.
- Display, measure, and manage advertising where advertising is enabled.
- Respond to support, privacy, legal, and editorial inquiries.
Third-party advertising, including Google
Third-party vendors and advertising networks, including Google, may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads on ReportRemarks. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on a user's visits to ReportRemarks and/or other sites on the Internet. Other authorized advertising vendors may use their own identifiers when they serve ads on this site.
You can manage personalized Google advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also learn about choices for participating third-party vendors at YourAdChoices. Opting out of personalized advertising does not necessarily stop ads; it generally makes them less personalized.
Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information only as needed to operate the service, comply with law, protect users, or complete a transaction. Provider categories include cloud hosting and database services, authentication providers, AI processing providers used to generate requested drafts, spreadsheet integration providers, analytics tools, payment processors, and advertising partners. Current integrations may include Supabase, Google services (such as Gemini, Google Sign-In, Google Sheets, Google Analytics, and AdSense), PayPal, and Creem. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell personal information for money.
International processing and consent
Service providers may process data in countries other than your own. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising consent is managed through a Google-certified consent management platform when required. That message explains the participating vendors and purposes and records your choices before personalized advertising is served. You can refuse personalized advertising without losing access to public editorial content.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and service data while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, secure it, resolve disputes, and meet tax, accounting, payment, or legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. You may request deletion of eligible account information. Some transaction, fraud-prevention, backup, or legal records may remain for the period required by law or legitimate operational needs.
Your privacy choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a privacy decision. To make a request, email us from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. You may also disable optional integrations, adjust browser cookie settings, or use the advertising choices described above.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information in transit and at rest and limit access to people and providers who need it. No Internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
ReportRemarks is intended for adult educators and is not directed to children. Children should not create accounts or submit personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the service where appropriate.
