Use neutral, observable language
Replace “lazy” with “does not yet begin independent work without a prompt.” Replace “careless” with “understands the method but needs to check each section before submission.” Replace “disruptive” with a description of the setting, frequency, and routine being learned. This language is more accurate and gives the student and family something they can act on.
